New Community Church began in 1976 when a group of young people from Sidcup came into a new experience of Jesus.
They were transformed by this encounter, ruined with a vision for the local church that it shouldn’t be dull and lifeless but a genuinely exciting and relevant community of people led by Christ.
Today, the church is an increasingly diverse community of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds from across S.E. London. We are a church committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit in bringing great praise and Glory to God the Father.
We recently became a multi-venue church in S.E. London with venues in both Sidcup and Eltham, dreaming for many more lives to be transformed by the Gospel across S.E. London and believing that the best is yet to come!
What do we do for students?
We think that students are a vital part of who we are, and so we have a dedicated student work for them. Because we have a few colleges nearby us, we have monthly church-wide gatherings to share food, share Jesus and share life to encourage each other as well as direct on campus meets and outreach events. We're so excited about all that God wants to do in our unis!
We also love hanging out together by going to the pub after church, chilling, getting to know some of the resident community through food (so worth doing). And we're also passionate about making sure that you personally are moving on with God - we want your time at uni, and hopefully at New Community, to be the best years of your life so far!

Our Eltham venue was born in early 2016 and we already gather a wide range of people from all sorts of different walks of life. Our Sunday service kicks off at 11.00 and lasts for 90 minutes, with a time of worship and a talk from the Bible.
The friendly Host Team (the guys and girls in blue t-shirts) will be on hand to welcome you, point you in the right direction and answer any questions you have, there are refreshments served before and after the service and if you're lucky enough to have a car, there is free parking behind the school on Orangery Lane, park up and follow the signs around to the entrance!
